Windows – Security

At TWB Ltd Window security is something that we take very seriously and we are pleased to say that the profile we use (Plastmo) was the first to gain the British Board of Agrément approval for product security. Every window or door that we fabricate has a full depth Eurogroove that ensures all locking mechanisms can be fitted without danger of breaking into the glazing chamber.

Hinges
We use as standard  friction stay / hinges which are BBA approved and conform to BS7950.

Espagnolette Locks
We fit a standard  Espagnolette lock which gives high levels of security and peace of mind, much more so than old wooden windows.

Shootbolt Locks
For high security areas, its possible to upgrade to a shootbolt lock.

Externally Glazed Windows
Externally beaded windows are made secure by simply using Security Glazing tapes in the place of the conventional internal wedge gasket. Security tape physically bonds the glass unit into the frame whilst still providing a seal. An externally beaded window will provide a much better looking window when viewed from the inside of a room looking out.

Internally Glazed Windows
Experience shows that our internal and external frames are equally secure. However, at TWB we can manufacture both systems.
